Avenue Q to Return to the West End for 20th Anniversary Revival
The hit musical Avenue Q is set to return to London’s West End to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with a brand-new production opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 20 March to 29 August 2026.
Produced by Kevin McCollum and Jamie Wilson Productions, the revival will feature the original Broadway puppets and reunite key members of the creative team behind the show’s debut.
Jason Moore will once again direct, joined by Rick Lyon on puppet design, Stephen Oremus on orchestrations and arrangements, and Anna Louizos on set design. Ebony Molina will choreograph, with casting by Pearson Casting and additional UK creatives to be announced soon.
Written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, with a book by Jeff Whitty, Avenue Q follows Princeton, a recent college graduate who moves into a shabby New York apartment block and learns life lessons from his quirky neighbours. The musical first arrived in the West End in 2006 at the Noël Coward Theatre, later transferring to the Gielgud and Wyndham’s Theatres before closing in 2010.
