Paddington The Musical is entering its second year in the West End with a new company of performers set to take to the stage at the Savoy Theatre from 28 October.
The production, inspired by Michael Bond’s A Bear Called Paddington and the Paddington film, has enjoyed a major awards run since opening in London. The musical has picked up seven Olivier Awards and nine WhatsOnStage Awards, while its reviews have included a five-star response from WhatsOnStage.
The show is currently booking at the Savoy Theatre through to 13 February 2028.
At the heart of the new company are Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj, who will alternate as the on-stage Paddington. Sonny Monaghan will also play Young Man/Paddington, combining voice work with remote puppetry.
The new principal company includes Cassidy Janson as Millicent Clyde, Marc Pickering as Mr Curry, Samantha Bingley as Lady Sloane, Tarinn Callender returning as Grant, Haydn Oakley as Mr Brown, Sandra Marvin as Tanya, Charlotte Wakefield as Mrs Brown, Teddy Kempner returning as Mr Gruber, Linzi Hateley as Mrs Bird and Alex Crandon as Hank the Pigeon.
The younger members of the Brown family will also be shared between performers. Poppy Houghton and Francesca Ratcliffe alternate Judy Brown, while Eddison Burch and Shayne Maphosa alternate Tony. Jonathan Brown will be played by Charlie Dean, Arlo Drage, Oliver Goodman and Finn Leonard.
The ensemble features Esme Bacalla-Hayes, Sarah Benbelaid, Millie Gubby, Helen Gulston, Daisy Hanna, Jonathan Hermosa-Lopez, Jacqueline Hughes, Kellianna Jay, Kwame Kandekore, Sam Lathwood, Andilé Mabhena, Kate Parr, Billy Roberts, Hugo Rolland, Eugene Shire, Vicki Lee Taylor and Kevin Tristan. Freya Rose joins the company as the standby on-stage Paddington.
Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley said today, “It is an absolute privilege bringing Paddington The Musical to the stage with our partners from STUDIOCANAL, and as we celebrate our first year in the west end, it’s a joy to announce this brand-new company. Shows like this don’t come along very often, and we’re continually in awe of how audiences embrace the production, and take this much-loved bear to their hearts. We know this wonderful company will make the show their own and continue to create magic on stage at the Savoy Theatre.”
The production is currently booking until 13 February 2028. Best availability for tickets is now from Summer 2027.
