Review! Jack and the Beanstalk Panto 2025 Crewe Lyceum Theatre 

If ever there were a beanstalk worth climbing, it’s the one bursting through the stage at the beautiful Crewe Lyceum Theatre this panto season. Jack and the Beanstalk is a riot of colour, comedy, cracking tunes and pure panto magic – and it absolutely deserves its place at the top of your festive must-see list.

Leading the fun is the lovely Jennifer Ellison as the deliciously wicked Poison Ivy, who brings glamour, sass and delivering powerhouse vocals that brought the house down. 

 Malcolm Lord (Dame Trot) is gloriously outrageous, strutting through the show in totally over-the-top costumes that had the audience laughing before a single punchline was delivered.

The biggest highlight of the night is undoubtedly Ste Johnston (Simon Trot). A true comic force, he had the audience in fits of laughter with his sharp wit, impeccable timing and effortless audience interaction. He steals every scene he’s in and delivers comedy gold throughout.

Ollie Hart-Bradford (Jack) is a wonderfully likeable hero, full of charm and confidence with a fantastic singing voice. He shares brilliant on-stage chemistry with Beth Lyons (Jill), the pair bouncing off each other beautifully and delivering some standout moments together. David Gilbrock (Squire O’Dwyer) plays his role brilliantly, adding polish, presence and plenty of laughs.

Adding the magic is Eliza Walters (Fairy Floral), who makes a sparkling entrance and brings warmth, sparkle and that all-important touch of panto magic to the story.
