What ho! A most enjoyable evening was had at the Charing Cross Theatre. Jeeves Takes Charge is a fun, very reverent take on the works of P.G Wodehouse, with a great physical performance from Sam Harrison. I was most impressed with his comic timing and the way he perfectly and seamlessly inhabited numerous characters. The set and video design by Caite Hevner are particularly good, keeping things moving and helping bring the different stories to life. It’s definitely one for Wodehouse fans, and I would say that a Jeeves and Wooster novice,
I found the script a little impenetrable and while the second act dragged a little for me, there’s plenty to enjoy here and you can see the appeal.
